Cadet Freestyle scenarios

Heading into Thursday afternoon's session, there are nine Iowans who have clinched All-American honors in Cadet freestyle. Some of them are done wrestling until their place matches, while several others wrestle one round robin bout today to decide their fate.

84 - Sam Phillips wrestles Aaron Dick of Minnesota. The winner wrestles for third and the loser wrestles for fifth.

98 - Phillip Laux has won his pool and will wrestle for the National title Friday.

112 - Jack Hathaway has also clinched his half of the bracket and will go after a second National title of the week on Friday.

135 - Brandon Sorensen is undefeated and wrestles Austin Eads of Missouri in a round robin bout later today. If he wins, he makes the Cadet freestyle finals for the second year in a row.

140 - Jake Marlin has the most scenarios in his one round robin bout. If he wins by fall, he makes the finals. If he wins by technical fall or decision, he wrestles for third. And if he loses, he will wrestle for fifth.

145 - Dylan Blackford will wrestle for seventh place on Friday.

160 - Alex Meyer is 7-0 and faces 7-0 Glen Climmons of Georgia for all the marbles later today. The winner makes the finals and the loser goes for third.
