Four place to lead Simpson Storm at Luther Open

DECORAH, Iowa — Noah RobinsonAlek ZieglerKobey Bosworth and Blake Bauer placed to lead the Simpson wrestling team at the competitive Luther Open on Saturday.

Robinson placed sixth at 184 pounds in the Elite Division while Ziegler (133) and Bosworth (184) came in third in the Silver Division and Bauer (149) took fourth.

Robinson responded after a first-round loss, beating Jamie Gehling (Upper Iowa) 3-2 and Alex Kerr (Nebraska Wesleyan) 8-3 to get into the fifth-place match. There, he lost a 10-0 major decision to Joseph Keller (Cornell).

Ziegler went 2-1 on the day, getting a decison over Sawyer Sarbacker (Wis.-La Crosse) in the quarterfinal before losing in the semifinal. He beat Tristan Jenny (Wis.-La Crosse) by 14-1 major decision in the consolation championship.

Bosworth took a similar path, winning by fall in the quarterfinal round over John Keifer (Luther) before losing to Dalton Hahn (Upper Iowa) in the semifinals. He earned a tough, 3-2 win over Lee Fuller (Wis.-La Crosse) in the third-place match.

Bauer won a major decision in the quarterfinal round then closed the day with a pair of losses to take fourth.
