CEDAR FALLS—Tyler Johnson, former University of Northern Iowa football captain and founder of Elevate Educate Rejuvenate, will speak to youth and high school coaches on Oct. 4. His appearance is being sponsored by Iowa Youth Sports Initiative.
Johnson co-led the Panthers in tackles during 2003's conference championship season. He grew up in Urbandale, Iowa where he was a two-sport all-state athlete. After graduating college, he spent five years working with the Chicago White Sox and two years with the Denver Nuggets.
Shifting his passion for sports to working with student-athletes, Johnson helped launch the Colorado Chapter of Positive Coaching Alliance in 2011. Continuing to lead education and training for PCA, he founded Elevate Educate Rejuvenate in 2017.
Elevate Educate Rejuvenate is focused on student-athlete leadership, mental toughness and team culture. It is training to positively impact student-athletes and coaches, helping them to become better leaders, mentally stronger and to create winning team cultures.
Johnson also is a contributing expert for StackSports.com.
His presentation will be held Oct. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Best Western Plus Hotel, a supporter of Iowa Youth Sports Initiative, 1614 Technology Parkway in Cedar Falls. There is no charge to attend but an RSVP is required by emailing Nancy Justis at firstname.lastname@example.org by October 1.
