It is the 2018 -2019 season, and Iowa is ready to wrestle. The summer has been full of camps, workouts and Freestyle-Greco matches. The intense wrestlers never rest. Respectable athletes also need dedicated coaches, and Iowa has always been a hot-bed for leadership. One coach who helped develop the legacy of Iowa wrestling and has influenced many in our sport is Dan Dunham. He has coached at Jesup, and Dubuque Senior, and he started the program at Dubuque Hempstead. He received the National Lifetime Service Award in 2012 and was inducted into the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1999. Dunham was also selected into the inaugural Hempstead Athletic Hall of Fame where the wrestling room is named after him. Dunham loves talking wrestling and he took the time to pass on some information to our Predicament readers.
