Tournament Information:
The Iowa Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association is pleased to announce its first interscholastic
Iowa High School Girls Wrestling Championships January 19, 2019 at Waverly-Shell Rock High
School.
Participant Eligibility:
- All eligible girls competing on wrestling teams sponsored by the Iowa High
School Athletic Association member schools and included on their rosters, are
eligible to participate.
- 9-12 grade girls – no 8th
graders or below
- This event counts as one of the wrestler’s 17 competition dates allowed during
the season by IHSAA rules.
- Wrestler is a registered participant with a IHSAA school and has been certified in
the Track Wrestling Weight Management System.
Weight Classes: 106, 113, 120,126,132, 138, 152, 170, 195, HWT
(If a weight would exceed the 5 NFHS match limit, the committee has the right to amend weight classes.)
Registration:
Cost: $15.00 per wrestler
Wrestlers will be registered online using the TrackWrestling system. Links for registration can be
obtained through emailing Roger Riggins Roger.Riggins@lsiowa.org
Registration DEADLINE: Participant registration into TrackWrestling, along with
seeding criteria is due by Tuesday January 15th, at 10:00pm.
Weigh-Ins: 8:30am; Waverly Shell Rock High School
Start Time: 10:30am; Waverly Shell Rock High School
Awards:
Individual: The IWCOA will recognize the top 6 wrestlers at each weight class
as IWCOA Girls State Placewinners.
Team: The IWCOA will recognize a IWCOA Girls State Champion, Runner-up
and Third Place team consisting of a maximum of 10 scoring wrestlers.
Coaches: All coaches must be a certified coach, and approved by their school to coach
in the event. The coach must be present to coach and be responsible for the girls
entered.
Seeding: Will be done by coaches and members of the IWOCA
- The wrestler has attended one of the IHSAA sponsored events during the
2018-2019 season.
- The wrestler has at least one win during the 2018-2019 season.
- Overall Season Record
- Head to Head
- The wrestler has been recognized as the tournament champion at one of the
IHSAA sanctioned girls tournaments.
- Other Information:
- List any National Tournament placings or participations during the 2018
season. Recognized tournaments include USA Wrestling and AAU
Wrestling National Tournaments.
- Does the individual participate in the varsity line-up etc.
