GRUNDY CENTER - In the sport of wrestling you do not want to be on the wrong side of a predicament.
A predicament was an old school way of describing a near pin without completing the task.
For John Doak, of Grundy Center, getting on the right side led to a life time of thrills and enabled him to meet up with some of the wrestling greats in history.
Doak and his wife, Mary, would go out to supper with the likes of Keith Young and family, then retire back at Doak's residence and suddenly a scrum would break out.
"Oh yeah, we would go out and have a wonderful supper, then come home and the boys would start wrestling each other right here in the basement," said Mary. "It was crazy but it was a lot of fun."
