A short-handed William Penn men’s wrestling team opened the calendar year with a 43-12 setback to Graceland in a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual meet Tuesday.

WPU (1-7, 1-2 Heart) sent just five grapplers to the mat, forfeiting five times.  The Yellowjackets (5-1, 4-1 Heart) also did not fill a full lineup, forfeiting to the visitors twice as a total of just three matches were actually contested Tuesday.  Unfortunately, William Penn dropped all three of those bouts.

125-pounder Nadhelo Charles-Pierre (Jr., Miramar, Fla., Sports Management) and 133-pounder Darquell Pierre (Sr., St. Petersburg, Fla., Sociology) each collected forfeits in the setback.

Next Up: William Penn travels to Pella Saturday to compete in the Central Invitational.  Action begins at 9 a.m.
