NO. 1 GRAND VIEW WINS 9 CONSECUTIVE NWCA NATIONAL DUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Louisville, KY - No. 1 Grand View went untouched on the weekend going 4-0 after facing top opponents, claiming their ninth-straight NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals title this Saturday, January 11.

Grand View faced Baker University this morning at 11:00 a.m. EST where they advanced to the finals after defeating the Wildcats, 42-3. Heading into the finals the Vikings were set to competing against No. 15 Life University. Showing no mercy, Grand View defeated the Eagles 40-0.

Individually, Grand View won 37 out of 40 total individual matches and recorded 8 pins on the weekend. Three Vikings are currently ranked No. 1 in the country including Justin Portillo (JR/Clarion, IA) at 125, Renaldo Rodriguez-Spencer (SR/Buffalo, NY) at 157, and Evan Hansen (SR/Kimballton, IA) at 197.

Grand View has been ranked No. 1 in the NAIA poll since October 17, 2012. Following this weekend, the Vikings have won 85 consecutive duals. The Vikings will travel to Marshall, Missouri for the Missouri Valley Invitational next Friday and Saturday, January 17 and 18.
