Our Antidote for Coaches Side-lined by COVID-19

By Nancy Justis, Iowa Youth Sports Initiative

The spread of coronavirus is having an enormous impact on the coaching sector, grounding sporting activity across the country, from grass-roots to professional level.

This isolating period is likely to have an adverse effect on people physically, psychologically, emotionally, socially and, of course, economically.

We know, there is nothing more frustrating than not being able to do what you love. But while the spread of the virus may be preventing you gathering with your teams and participants, it cannot stop you gathering knowledge and growing your coaching skills during this exasperating but unavoidable pause in play.

Rest assured UK Coaching will support you during this hugely difficult time and help you use your downtime effectively, so that when things return to normal you will be stronger for the experience.

To this end, we have temporarily unlocked 10 of our most valuable subscriber resources making them available to all registered on UKCoaching.org. These will remain freely available until 3 May.

The selection of tips, guidance, videos, webinars and expert opinion will give you the opportunity to take stock and reflect on your coaching practice, and will also help you expand your coaching knowledge and ideas.
