I started wrestling because my older brother was doing it also. I started wrestling around kindergarten. I had a couple of friends that went to the practices and I started to like the sport.
I didn't catch on at wrestling when I was younger. I used to mess around the whole practice and just never focused on practice. It wasn't til my 8th-grade year that I started to pay attention and I did some winning. I only went to a few tournaments each year.
I started with the Knights wrestling club. I liked it there. All my friends where there and that was our town club. In middle school, I started going to Bob Yilek in Belle Plaine. He really helped me work on certain positions that I was having trouble with. Then after 8th grade, I went to Immortal. That's where I still am at. I love it there, all of the coaches help me and push me to do my best. I have the best partners in the state of Iowa.
My favorite memory was schoolboy duals my 8th-grade year. It was my first year wrestling freco. I went to the duals because everyone said it was a good experience. I ended up only losing two matches out of 16.I just had a good time the whole time.
My wrestling heroes growing up would have been Max Thomsen and Jacob Holschlag.
4-8th grade I qualified. 8th grade I got 5th.
Freshmen qualified, sophomore second, junior first
Not in my wrestling. But in my sophomore year, I had a really big confidence booster. At the Bobcat "Jerry Echenrod" I saw that I could hang with all of the older kids and better kids in the state.
Mattew Doyle, Cade Tenold
What are your wrestling goals for the upcoming high school season?
To keep wrestling hard and keep working forward towards my goals.
Bobcat ¨Jerry Eckenrod¨, There's always kids from all A's and there are so many good kids there.
I would describe my style as unorthodox. I do normal moves but I will change them a little bit. I would compare myself to Yainni D and Taylor Lujan.
I played football my freshmen year.
Fishing and showing livestock. Winning champion Chester pig at the Iowa State Fair 2019.
I wanted one so someone gave me a pygmy goat. That Christmas I asked for a Boer goat. I thought a Boer goat was a male. It wasn't. Its a breed. Then I started to show them and kept buying more and more.
I show them and sell them. I usually sell about ten goats for people to show at their local county fair.
Yes, I show at county fair, state fair, and national fairs.
Yes, I have shown goats at State Fair two years now.
I have done decent at them. I have had some division champs at a national show and at the state fair.
They like to get out a lot and get sick a lot.
Its affected a lot of things from wrestling to ACT to shows.
My parents and my brother
It teaches you hard work and shows you that not every day is good but you have on keep working.
