Mount Pleasant, IA - October 15, 2020 - Iowa Wesleyan Tiger Athletics invites the public to an open house to see the newly completed Willis Wrestling Facility on October 21, 2020, from 4 pm -7 pm. The wrestling facility is located just off campus at 265 E Taft Street in Mount Pleasant.
The Mount Pleasant Chamber Alliance will kick things off with a socially distanced ribbon-cutting outside of the facility. Tours will be provided in groups of 10 or less by our very own Tiger wrestlers, and masks will be required throughout the open house. This event is an excellent opportunity for the public to see the Tiger Athletics' newest facility, meet the Tiger Wrestling coaching staff, and engage with the talented student-athletes on the men's and women's wrestling teams.
"We are extremely grateful for the support of all of our alumni and advocates who made this program a reality at Iowa Wesleyan University," said Derek Zander, vice president for advancement and athletics. "Our student-athletes are proud of what this program and facility have started, and I look forward to having the Iowa Wesleyan, Mount Pleasant, and greater community get their first look at this top-notch facility and program."
Due to the covid-19 pandemic, Iowa Wesleyan will hold a dedication for Mark 70' and Sandra Willis, who generously donated $250,000 to launch the facility renovation, in the spring of 2021. More details will follow at a later date
