Top 5 Class 1A Teams After the Semifinals
1st: Don Bosco (146 PTS) Don Bosco kept the gap between them and Lisbon virtually the same in the semifinal round. The Dons send four to the finals, have five going in the consi semis, and will send two out to fight for 7th place.
2nd: Lisbon (120.5 PTS) Lisbon also sends four into the finals tomorrow and have three alive that could still get 3rd place. They will have to get hot in Saturday morning’s session to close the gap with Don Bosco. They also have 7th ranked Lincoln Holub going for 7th place tomorrow afternoon at 152.
3rd: Logan-Magnolia (81 PTS) The Panthers won three very close matches in the semifinal round and also lost a heart breaker at 132. Besides their three finalists, Hagen Heistand will attempt to get 3rd place for the 3rd time tomorrow and Gavin McGuire goes for 7th.
4th: West Sioux (55.5 PTS) West Sioux went 1-4 in the semis sending top ranked Braden Graff into the finals. The Falcons send four wrestlers into the consi semis and should be able to close the gap somewhat with the 3rd place Panthers.
5th: Underwood (50.5 PTS) 3rd ranked Stevie Barnes and 2nd ranked Gable Porter head to the finals after winning huge matches in the semifinals. Heavyweight Easton Eledge will be going for 7th tomorrow afternoon.

120LBS: 2nd ranked Brandon Paez of Lisbon was awarded the match winning takedown with under 5 seconds to go to defeat 4th ranked Jase Rose of Oakland Riverside 6-4.
132LBS: In a huge battle here at 32, 2nd ranked Gable Porter of Underwood gave up two huge penalty points during his match with 3rd ranked Hagen Heistand of Logan-Magnolia. However, the unbeaten sophomore was able to ride out Heistand in the ultimate tie breaker to hang on and win 5-5.
145LBS: In another match that featured nearly 5:00 of riding time, 3rd ranked Cael Rahnavardi of Don Bosco defeated 2nd ranked Dominic Lopez of New London 1-0. Rahnavardi got the only point in the match via an escape with his choice in the tie breakers.
160LBS: Top ranked Tate Entriken of Hudson earned the only takedown in his match with 4th ranked Gabe McGeough of MFL with 30 seconds remaining in the 3rd period. A late takedown attempt by McGeough came up short. 3-2 the final
182LBS: Top ranked Carson Tenold of Don Bosco tailed 2-1 in the 2nd period against 3rd ranked Carson Lynott of West Sioux. Tenold then scored a pair of 2 pt nearfalls and then tacked on 3 more points in the 3rd period to win 7-2.
285LBS: #5 Rex Johnsen (Logan-Magnolia) vs. #2 Dane Johnson (Pocahontas Area)
The match was tight throughout until Johnsen nearly pinned Johnson in the 3rd period to open up what appeared to be a 7-1 victory. Johnson however got the escape and then exploded getting a takedown and put Johnsen on his back. But it wasn’t quite enough to earn the five point move that he needed to tie the match. A couple late turn attempts also came up short for Johnson. Rex Johnsen wins 7-6 and makes it 3 in the finals for the Panthers.
